The Beak and Barrel – First Look, Opening Date & Menu

The Beak and Barrel, the pirate-themed tavern coming to Magic Kingdom, finally has an opening date! It will open on August 29, with reservations opening on August 14.

The tavern is described as a “rambunctious watering hole that will offer a welcoming haven for all pirate-kind, big and small, and everyone in between” and will offer food and drinks.

First Look

The bar area of the tavern is called The Mess, which gets its name from the fact that it used to be a mess hall for Spanish soldiers before it was claimed by pirates. The large bell on the ceiling is said to be from Captain Redd’s first ship, which he gifted to Merry.

The Mess

You’ll also see Mermaid Windows, salvaged from the wreckage of an infamous pirate ship and caked with barnacles.

The Cursed bar is a massive skull-shaped bar that’s anchored to the side of The Mess. Perched atop the bar, Rummy welcomes patrons and keeps them entertained with a story, joke, or song.

Who doesn’t love a rendition of “Yo ho, Yo ho, a pirate’s life for me!”

In the center of The Captains’ Quarters is a warming fireplace, and on the mantel are miniature ships in glass bottles that come alive and engage in a fearsome bottle-bound battle!

Here we get a closer look at the booths in the tavern. Each of the four booths has carved wooden panels that tell the story of legendary pirates!

There’s also a private sitting room that pirates use to play their favourite games of chance and skill.

The Mapmaker’s Room is filled with rolled-up maps, and in the centre of the room is a worktable used by an old pirate cartographer. The map on the wall showcases the pirating world and may hold a secret or two.

In the video below, you get a tour around the tavern!
