Lakeshore Lodge – A New Disney World Resort
Lake Shore Lodge is a new resort set to open at Disney World in Summer 2027.
Disney has described it as a waterfront retreat, nestled on the tranquil shores of Bay Lake. It will be part of the Disney Vacation Club, so it’s likely to be a deluxe resort.
In 2018, it was announced that a new Disney World resort would be built on the shore of Bay Lake. The project was called Reflections: A Disney Lakeside Lodge, but the development was postponed in 2020.
In November 2024, the project was revived and renamed as Disney Lakeshore Lodge, with plans to open in 2027.
Location
The resort will be located near Fort Wilderness, on the former site of Disney’s River Country Water Park, which closed in 2001.
Lakeshore Lodge will pay tribute to Disney movies whose stories are rooted in nature, such as Bambi, Pocahontas and Brother Bear.
Accommodation
The resort will have 967 rooms offering a variety of room styles, including suites and studios. They’ll also be one- and two-bedroom houses available along the waterfront.
We can see from the concept art that the resort will have a feature pool with a waterslide and a lazy river. There’ll also be a waterfront restaurant, but there isn’t much information about this yet, with Disney stating that news about dining and amenities will be announced soon.

The Wetlands
Disney has announced that an interactive recreational area called The Wetlands will be a part of Lakeshore Lodge. The Wetlands is inspired by the Pocahontas song “Colours Of The Wind.”
The area features herons and otters, which is a reference to the lyric “The heron and the otter are my friends”, and with a lazy river, you can float around the river bend!
Heron Shores & Daydream River
Heron Shores features impressive heron sculptures nestled among trees and reeds. It includes a climbing area with a bridge that crosses the lazy Daydream River, where guests can unwind in a tube and gently float along its winding path.
Otter Springs
Otter Springs is a splash pool with interactive fountains, where oversized otter sculptures playfully join in the fun.
Lakeside Lagoon
Lakeside Lagoon is a zero-entry pool with a treehouse-themed slide. There are plenty of loungers around the lagoon, making it the perfect spot for relaxing under the Floridian sun.
