Spiderman Is Swinging into Shanghai Disney Resort!

​Shanghai Disney Resort is getting the world’s first Spider-Man land! It’ll be the home base for the Shanghai branch of the Worldwide Engineering Brigade, or W.E.B. for short.

W.E.B. is a workshop started by Tony Stark where young inventors can build new tech and test their new ideas. Peter Parker is one of those inventors, and he’s made a new batch of Spider-Bots.

This isn’t the first time W.E.B and the Spider-Bots have appeared in a Disney Park. WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure in Disney’s California Adventure Park sets you on a mission to help Spider-Man recover his Spider-Bots that are escaping W.E.B.

There’s a similar ride called Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure at Disneyland Paris, too.

Imagineers are working with local artists to create more than 20 murals across the land. They’ll celebrate science, Spider-Man, and the Avengers. D23 attendees could see an example of this artwork, which Shanghai Disney Resort also shared on Instagram.

Attractions

Only one ride has been announced so far, and it’s a thrilling roller coaster! The Spider-Bots have been very helpful in creating some experiments at W.E.B., including the brand-new roller coaster, with the final piece of the track recently installed.

Unfortunately, whenever you have Spider-Bots, chaos inevitably follows, and as we can see from the concept art below, it looks like Spider-Man is battling a giant out-of-control Spider-Bot.

Dining and Shopping

There’s no official word yet about dining options, but since it’s Disney, you can bet there will be some fun themed places to eat and shop. The new land is also expected to have character experiences, so you’ll get the chance to meet your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man!
